For those who have walked the grounds of Grove City College and New York City’s Central Park, you may not be a surprised to find they were designed by the very same person. Fredrick Law Olmsted is both the brains behind the most visited urban park in US and Grove City College.
Founded in 1876, Grove City has stuck to a Master Plan created by Fredrick Law Olmsted, considered the father of American landscape architecture. The plan was later carried out by the firm led by Olmsted’s sons. Designed in the Collegiate Gothic Style, the college has successfully created a campus worth visiting. In recent years, the college has built beautiful buildings that perfectly blend the new with the old.
